Kirsan Ilyumzhinov’s greetings to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama on his birthday

On July 6, the spiritual leader of Buddhists, the Nobel Prize laureate, the 14th Dalai Lama turns 86. The first President of Kalmykia, sixth FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov congratulated His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama on his birthday:

“Your Holiness! Happy birthday to you from the bottom of my heart! For the first time I got the blessed opportunity to meet with you in Moscow in 1992. I was then only 27 years old. You have arrived to visit Kalmykia, Tuva and Buryatia. I will never forget this day: I saw you - the living embodiment of Buddha Avalokiteshvara. I could not breathe with excitement, but you just smiled, hugged me and patted me on the shoulder.
In 1993, when I became President of Kalmykia, we decided to make the first official visit of the delegation of the Republic of Kalmykia to Dharamshala, the residence of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in India. Having overcome many obstacles, our delegation still came to your residence. It was an unforgettable visit.

All Kalmykia remembers how you visited our republic on November 30, 2004 and consecrated the Syakusn Syume Khurul. Then we laid the foundation stone for the construction of the largest temple in Europe, the Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni. There were many meetings. And none of them can be forgotten.
I have said many times, and I will repeat it again: I am proud that I have the honour to live on this Earth at the same time as you. It is a great honour for me, as for all Buddhists on the planet, to be a follower of a spiritual leader like you. We, who live at the same time and on the same planet with you, are extremely lucky: we can see and feel the living embodiment of the Buddha of Compassion.
You love all living beings, and you generously share this universal love with all of us living on the same planet.
I pray for your health and longevity!"
