Kirsan Ilyumzhinov expresses condolences on the tragic death of Emergencies Minister Yevgeny Zinichev

On September 8, Emergencies Minister Yevgeny Zinichev passed away. He was 55 years old. He died in the line of duty, while at an interdepartmental exercise to protect the Arctic zone from emergencies in Norilsk, saving a person's life. This happened during the filming of a training film, when an employee of the film crew fell into the water, who also died.

Evgeny Zinichev headed the Ministry of Emergency Situations since May 2018, he also was a member of the Security Council. On June 18, 2005, Evgeny Zinichev visited Kalmykia, accompanying Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Evgeny Zinichev devoted himself completely to serving Russia. A courageous, honest, decent man, a real Russian officer, he went from an ordinary employee of the state security agencies to the head of the most important Ministry of Emergency Situations. The death of this outstanding person is a great loss not only for those who knew him, but for the whole country. I express my sincere condolences to the family, relatives, friends and all the rescuers in Russia.
