Kirsan Ilyumzhinov congratulates Orthodox Christians on the Presentation of the Lord

On February 15, Orthodox Christians celebrate the Presentation of the Lord - one of the twelve main holidays. The first President of Kalmykia, sixth FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov congratulated Orthodox Christians on this great holiday:

“The holiday was established in honour of the meeting of the infant Christ with the righteous elder Simeon and the prophetess Anna. Following the Old Testament custom, on the 40th day after the birth of Jesus, the parents brought their firstborn to the Temple in Jerusalem to dedicate it to God. There, according to the Gospel, the child was blessed by the 360-year-old elder Simeon.
According to legend, many years before this event, Simeon was translating the book of the prophet Isaiah. He considered the words that the maiden would give birth to a son a mistake and wanted to correct it - to change the “maiden” to “wife”. But he had a revelation from God that he would not die until he saw with his own eyes the coming into the world of the Saviour - the infant of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
And there was a presentation in the temple. Simeon took the baby in his arms, blessed it and said: “Now thou dost dismiss thy servant, O Lord, according to thy word in peace; Because my eyes have seen thy salvation, Which thou hast prepared before the face of all peoples: A light to the revelation of the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel".

I sincerely congratulate you on the holy Christian holiday! I sincerely wish God's help in every noble deed. May all good dreams come true, and may the guardian angel save you from troubles and troubles. I wish you more good news and events, joyful meetings and good health, success, good luck, prosperity, love and faith! May every new day, given by God, be blessed! God bless all of us!"
