The main event in the programme of the visit will be the construction of the sand mandala of the Buddha of Compassion Avalokiteshvara.

The programme also includes rituals with the monks of the Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni, which will also be aimed at achieving harmony and well-being of all living beings. All rituals will take place in the main hall of the Golden Monastery of Buddha Shakyamuni.

Editors’ note: In Buddhism, Avalokiteshvara embodies the infinite mercy and compassion of all Buddhas. Out of love and compassion for all living beings, he made a vow not to go to nirvana to help others with liberation from suffering. The head of Tibetan Buddhism, the Dalai Lama is his embodiment. A mandala of this Buddha is erected to realize a successful future, to harmonize relations between people, to calm the consciousness. It is a geometric projection of the universe, as well as a means of reaching the depths of the subconscious during meditation.
