It was a premiere, and Steppe News really hopes that the performance will be staged more than once. Such a splendid spectacle should be seen by both Elista residents and guests of the capital of Kalmykia.

The site of the Tulip Festival, located on the territory of the Palace of Children's Creativity, amazed and captivated us. The reconstruction of the 1996 chess duel between Anatoly Karpov and Gata Kamsky was played by the five-time champion of Elista Alexander Utnasunov and the young chess player Ily Basangov. “Moves of the Pieces” was played by wonderfully costumed members of the Palace of Children's Creativity.
The beginning of the game and the final was accompanied by the PCC choir. Everything was performed at a high level. On behalf of all the spectators of the chess show, we expresse our admiration. Director Lyudmila Churbarova said that the children were happy and proud to participate in such a grandiose republican event, because "that memorable duel took place in our House of Children's Art."
