Uzbekistan praises Ilyumzhinov's merits as the sixth FIDE President

On May 1, in Dubai, Kirsan Ilyumzhinov met with a CEO from Uzbekistan, Mr Akmal. In addition to negotiations on business projects, the Mr Akmal gave Kirsan Ilyumzhinov a letter from the head of LABI HOVUZ BARAKA LLC Mehrigiyo Khayitova, in which Ms Khayitova told Ilyumzhinov about her desire to build a chess pavilion and name it in honour of the sixth FIDE President.

Kirsan Ilyumzhinov replied:
“I want to express my sincere gratitude to you for the warm letter and kind words! I am very pleased to hear the words of recognition of the results of my work as FIDE President.
… I really hope that this Chess Pavilion will become a meeting place for both professional chess players and beginners. In my opinion, it is extremely important to pay attention to every person who is in love with or interested in this beautiful ancient game.
Involving chess fans, and especially children, in various chess tournaments and other events, in my firm opinion, is a very promising direction that needs to be supported and developed in every possible way.

I wish you success in all your endeavours, new achievements, good health, kindness and peace!”
