Chess Pavilion named after Kirsan Ilyumzhinov to open in Makhachkala

The opening of the chess pavilion named after Kirsan Ilyumzhinov will take place in Makhachkala soon. The pavilion is in the very centre of Makhachkala, in a picturesque corner of the city, next to the Caspian Hotel. Chess lovers can come here and play chess nearly every day.

Back on April 22, we wrote that it was decided to name the chess pavilion in the centre of Makhachkala after the sixth FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, who had received a letter from the Chess Federation of Dagestan.
“Dear Kirsan Nikolaevich! The Chess Federation of Dagestan, like the entire chess world, recognizes your great merits in the development and popularization of this intellectual game. It would be a great honour for us to name the chess pavilion on Rhodope Boulevard in Makhachkala after you. This wonderful facility for all chess lovers is in a seaside park, not far from the historical centre of Makhachkala.”

It is believed that the pavilion will become a real attraction for all. People of different religions and nationalities will compete at the chess tables.
