From the bottom of my heart, I congratulate everyone on the Day of Russia - the holiday of the revival of the sovereign statehood of our great Motherland. This holiday is a symbol of freedom and independence; it unites all of us by sincere and selfless love for the Fatherland.
On June 12, 1990, as a deputy of the First Congress of People's Deputies of the Russian Federation, I voted for the Declaration on the Sovereignty of Russia. 32 years have passed since it was adopted. Over the years, our country has gone through a difficult path of development, but managed to confirm the status of a strong and independent power and unite many peoples and cultures.
I was born and raised in Russia, I live here now, my family lives here. Parents and brothers live in my Little Motherland - Kalmykia. June 12 is a sacred day for us. It is celebrated by people of different nationalities, cultures and generations. We are all united by the desire to be strong and prosperous. A prosperous, firmly standing, independent Russia is our dream, our common future. In the name of this, we live and work, keep the traditions and covenants of our ancestors, and, I am sure, we will achieve success.
