June 21, 1962, sixty years ago, Viktor Tsoi was born. His birthday will be celebrated from Kaliningrad to Kamchatka - everywhere where they listen and sing the songs of the Kino group.
Viktor Tsoi was born in Leningrad, and the Kino group was born in the Crimea, in the tiny village of Morskoye near Sudak. Where, in the summer of 1981, Viktor Tsoi, Alexei Rybin and Oleg Valinsky pitched their tent. Now there is a monument in the form of a guitar, and on it there is an inscription: “Kino began here.”
True, at that time the group was called "Garin and the Hyperboloids". Only in 1982 it was decided to change the name. This is how the Kino group appeared. Today, almost forty years later, Tsoi's lyrics and music are still loved by millions of Russians.
It seems to me that he already explained the main thing about himself in one interview, when he said that "a person lives on the planet, not in the state." On what planet does Viktor Tsoi live now? Like many, I would like to think that Tsoi is still alive. So, what songs would he sing today? And would he sing at all?
Those who call Viktor Tsoi the voice of a generation are right, but why? The generation that remembers Tsoi's concerts has already changed, and people still come to the Arbat to Tsoi's Wall, where it is written that "Tsoi is alive!" No one can deprive us of our dreams and Tsoi will always be our beacon. And do not erase the writings from the walls. Because for many he is alive, and is invisibly present in our lives.
It is not known what Viktor Tsoi would have become if he had lived to this day. But I know one thing for sure - Tsoi forever remained a young energetic guy, always looking forward and into the distance. I am sure that Victor became a kind of guide and messenger who knew exactly why he was here. He fulfilled his mission honestly.
There are several things that I regret, and one of them is that I did not personally know Viktor Tsoi.
