Earlier, the head of FIDE has repeatedly stated that he was prepared to go to any measures to defend his good name and the business reputation all the way up to undergoing the lie detector test and participating in the public hearing.
Reportedly, the US Treasury has received the claim of the President of FIDE Kirsan Ilyumzhinov about the personal sanctions imposed on him in November last year for the alleged financial ties with the Syrian government, which the head of FIDE denied. The exact time of the hearing has not been announced yet.
Incidentally, on the 1st of March Ilyumzhinov arrived in Zurich to work with the US lawyers who have collected documents proving the absence of any relations of their client with the Syrian officials.
