The FIDE President awards young chess players with disabilities

19th of March, the young chess players with disabilities, within the "The World Grand Masters for children" charity event, visited the main site of the Candidates Tournament for the title of the 2016 World Chess Champion located in the Central Telegraph Office in Moscow). The guests of the tournament – the students of the chess schools - participated in the simul, which was held by the international grandmaster and the head coach of the national teams of Russia Sergey Yanovsky.

"I would like to thank everyone for the excellent organization of the meeting with the young chess players of Moscow. I hope that some of these guys will soon be playing in the next hall and fight for the right to contest the World Champion", said Ilyumzhinov at the awards ceremony.

The event was also attended by the participants of the Candidates Tournament: GM Sergey Karjakin, Peter Svidler (Russia) and Veselin Topalov (Bulgaria).
