At the same time Ilyumzhinov expressed his warm congratulations to Sheikh Nahyan, an old friend of the head of FIDE, and to all the followers of Islam at the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
The President of the International Chess Federation (FIDE), Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, arrived in Abu Dhabi on July 17th 2015 where he held talks with the Minister of Culture, Youth and Social Development of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, who is also in charge of national sport.
They discussed issues related to the preparation and conduct of the FIDE Congress in the capital of the Emirates, 1st to 9th of September 2015, and the possibility of organizing official tournaments in the UAE and other aspects of bilateral cooperation.
