On May 3, FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov had a working meeting at Tbilisi with Mair Mammadov who is the Director of the Organizing Committee of the 42th World Chess Olympiad, Vice-President of the Chess Federation of Azerbaijan and the head of the company «SOCAR Energy Georgia».

During the meeting the parties discussed issues of preparation for the opening of the Olympics, the possibility of other major competitions as well as the programme of the forthcoming visit of the head of FIDE to Baku and Shamkir.
