Ilyumzhinov holds two meetings during the holidays

FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov held two meetings in Moscow within the last few days. On June 11, he visited the studio of the famous painter Alexey Parfenov, who presented the VIP guest with his painting called ‘Chess game’.

The next day, the head of FIDE met with Alexandr Dondukov - the ex-Minister of Industry of the Russian Federation, General Designer of Yakovlev Design Bureau, with whom he played a friendly game of chess.

Incidentally, Alexandr Dondukov is an ethnic Kalmyk and great-grandson of Prince Alexander Dondukov-Korsakov, who was the military commandant of Sofia after the liberation of Bulgaria from the Ottoman yoke. Now a boulevard in the Bulgarian capital is named after the Russian military commander.
