On the death of Stanislav Dzhimbinov

We are sorry to hear of the passing of the glorious son of the Kalmyk people, professor of foreign literature of Maxim Gorky Literature Institute, and founder of Russia's first anthology of American poetry Stanislaw Bemovich Dzhimbinov.

I learned about his death, like many others, too late: Stanislav Bemovich died quietly - even the closest friends of the remarkable scientist received the sad news of his death with a delay of several days.

Stanislav Bemovich Dzhimbinov taught the history of the world literature of XX century; has lectured at universities in Western Europe and America. Joyce, Proust, Kafka, Rilke, Yeats, Trakl, Faulkner, Hemingway, Rozanov, Lossky, Dostoevsky, Troubetzkoy, Ilyin, Losev represents just a partial list of the names of great writers and philosophers, about whom professor Dzhimbinov told the students.
Undoubtedly, we have lost an extraordinary and talented person, who made an invaluable contribution to the history of literature.
I would like to express my sincere condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Stanislav Bemovich.
