Ilyumzhinov names contenders to host the match for the chess crown 2018

Japan and Singapore claimed to hold the next match for the title of world chess champion among men to be held in 2018 as FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov informed TASS.

"We can already name the bidders and negotiations are underway. I am planning to visit Japan and Singapore. There is a third candidate - also an Asian country - which is located near to both," said Ilyumzhinov.

"Both countries that aspire to host the match are well advanced in high-tech. I like it," noted the head of FIDE.
