On June 15, Moldovan President Igor Dodon reported on the work done during his tenure as the head of Moldovan Chess Federation at the meeting of its presidium.

"Kirsan Ilyumzhinov visited Moldova three times in a few months of 2017. FIDE President supports the promotion of chess in our country including financial aid. He also helped in the opening of hundreds of chess classes," Dodon noted.
