Ilyumzhinov: "Mongolia claims to host 2022 Chess Olympiad"

Mongolia will claim to host the World Chess Olympiad. This was announced by President of FIDE Kirsan Ilyumzhinov.

"I met with the newly elected President Khlatmaaglin Battulga. We decided that Mongolia will participate in tender to hold the Olympics in 2022. Moreover, the country has experience of organizing major chess competitions," Ilyumzhinov said.

Recall that the chess Olympiad -- the team tournament of players from FIDE members countries -- has been held since 1927. The Olympiad will be held in Batumi (Georgia) in 2018 and in Khanty-Mansiysk (Russia) in 2020.
