Lev Alburt: "I wish Ilyumzhinov good luck in running for the FIDE Presidency"

The editorial office of Kirsan.today website received a letter from our friend -- international grandmaster, three-time champion of Ukraine and the US Lev Albert.

"I was very glad to learn about the recent meeting between Kirsan Ilyumzhinov and Russian president in Sochi. It's nice that Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin is interested in chess; and I'm sure, Kirsan Nikolayevich could take credit for that," wrote the famous chess player.

"I hope that Ilyumzhinov will be reelected at the next FIDE President elections for the benefit and further development of chess. I sincerely wish him good luck," summed up Lev Osipovich.
Recall that Soviet chess player Lev Alburt emigrated to the United States in 1979, where he successfully continued his sports career. He started his coaching career in 1991. He is the Honoured Coach of FIDE (2004).
