Inarkiev: "Interest in chess is growing due to Ilyumzhinov's efforts"

I see that interest in chess is growing every year. And I believe that this is due to the efforts of FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov. In all of history, it has not been possible to find someone who organized as many events, attracted so many people to chess.

One example is the ‘Chess in Schools’ programme. It started in Kalmykia, when Ilyumzhinov introduced chess in all schools of the republic.

Under his leadership, FIDE has been actively developing this programme for all these years. This has already become a world trend -- chess is introduced into school education in China, the

US and Europe. After the meeting between Ilyumzhinov and Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Olga Vasilyeva, it was announced that chess will be studied in schools throughout Russia.
The elections of FIDE President will be held very soon and Kirsan Ilyumzhinov stated that he will run for a new term. Ingushetia fully supports him, because such significant progress is due to his efforts.
