Ilyumzhinov finds the strange decision of the leader of world chess

President of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) Kirsan Ilyumzhinov said that Magnus Carlsen has made a strange decision not to participate in the Candidates matches for the world title:
"The current system of championships is based on consultations with the players, sponsors and organizers. It is strange, of course, that Carlsen refused the chance to prove he is the best at the chessboard. So many times did the former holder of the title, 1st world number Viswanathan Anand. But this - his decision".

"In any case, our system clearly works: the Grand Prix, World Cup, the candidates tournament, a match for the title… All these events or have already been, or will be held on time. The current cycle has completed yet, and some proposals could be considered at a meeting of the presidential council of FIDE in December, "- said Ilyumzhinov.
