The weekly Interlocutor published an article entitled The Berezovsky Alphabet in which famous people recall different moments of his life. Kirsan Ilyumzhinov spoke about Berezovsky’s attitude to prophesy and religion.“We met dozens of times, before his departure from Russia and at his residence in Cannes and in London too,” recalls the first president of Kalmykia Kirsan Ilyumzhinov.

-He believed a little in all these stories, but I understood: he won’t be follower of Orthodoxy or any other religion. He always distanced himself from any theory. Probably, he needed religion for some of his affairs. Incidentally, I do not believe that he committed suicide. He was a very jovial person. He was not the character, not the player who who commits suicide after failure.
