In recent years, the socio-political situation in Armenia has undergone great change for the better, said the president of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, responding to a question from the Armenian media.
– I like to come here. We often go to Armenia and organize a lot of activities in Jermuk and Tsakhkadzor. I like that the country every day is changing for the better. Today it is very positive aura here, – said Ilyumzhinov.
I remember in 1996 when we stayed at the hotel "Armenia", my players came running up to me – look outside, there are the tanks. At that time the situation was difficult. Now everything has changed. In this regard, I wish the people of Armenia prosperity, and thank you for the initiative of the Forum of MGIMO graduates in Yerevan, - said the head of FIDE.
