FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov surprised that the United States has not imposed sanctions against the former world chess champion Garry Kasparov, who has long had to get to a restrictive list of Washington.
"Kasparov has signed the corrupt contract with the head of the Singapore Chess Federation. Ethics Commission for two years suspended him, and we have now passed the documents to the prosecutor.
