The Friendship Match between Russia and China, which takes place in Moscow from 11th to 15th June 2016, is an important factor in the strengthening the relationship between two states. This opinion was expressed by the President of FIDE Kirsan Ilyumzhinov.
"On the one hand, this is a test of strength of women’s and men’s chess teams on the eve of the Olympic Games to be held in Baku. It is a sparring match in which every team will play to win. This is a fundamental issue", said Ilyumzhinov.
"The Chinese team is very strong one- they won the title of Olympic Champions many times. The matches between two strongest teams contribute to the promotion of sports and are an important factor of Russian-Chinese relationship", stressed the head of FIDE.
