On October 7, Kirsan Ilyumzhinov attended the Russian Energy Week International Forum, which was joined by representatives of major companies from many countries.

On the sidelines of the forum, FIDE president met with Zimbabwe's Energy Development Minister Dr Samuel Undenge, who arrived in the Russian capital on a working visit. The parties discussed issues of economic cooperation.
