On November 24, the President of FIDE Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, during his working visit to Prague, attended a premiere of the documentary film directed by Steven Cantor "Dancer".After the premiere, Kirsan Ilyumzhinov talked with Sergei Polunin and his mother. Incidentally, the dancer’s mother was professionally engaged in chess, and taught her son how to play it.
During the conversation, Polunin and Ilyumzhinov discussed the possibility of setting up a joint project: combination of chess and ballet. The head of FIDE proposed to implement this project in London.
Speaking about his impressions, Ilyumzhinov said: "’Dancer’ made an indelible impression on me. I'm sure it will be a contender for Oscar winner in the Documentary Feature Category."
In addition, during his visit, the head of FIDE went to see the children's chess school.
