Head of FIDE meets with leader of Ingushetia

On May 14, FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov met with the head of the Republic of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Yevkurov during the third round of the World Chess Grand Prix in Moscow.

Yevkurov, who had highly appreciated the organization of the event, said that Ingushetia was ready to host the next Contenders Tournament or any part of the FIDE Grand Prix. Furthermore, measures to develop and popularize chess in the region were discussed.

Further, Yevkurov, accompanied by Ilyumzhinov, went to the tournament hall where he made the first move in the game between Russian Ernesto Inarkiev and Norwegian Jon Ludwig Hammer. He also presented an exquisite bouquet of flowers to Chinese Hou Yifan, who was the only woman participating in the tournament.
Afterwards, the guest of honor tied a draw with the four-year-old Mikhail Osipov, who became famous in Russia after participating in the First Channel show "Best of All".
"The Chess Grand Prix has brought together the outstanding minds of our country today. I met Misha Osipov. Mikhail praised me, saying that I played very well," the leader of Ingushetia shared with his Instagram followers.
