Ilyumzhinov opened Central Asia Cup

November 21 President of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) Kirsan Ilyumzhinov took part in the opening ceremony of the 4th Cup of the Central Asian countries, which was held in Almaty (Kazakhstan).
Recall that in the tournament are more than 70 players representing six states in the region: Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. Chess players will compete for a prize pool of $ 25 thousand and for the FIDE President's Cup.

After the ceremony Kirsan Ilyumzhinov met with President of Kazakhstan Chess Federation Galimzhan Esenov (signed with him a memorandum on cooperation), the mayor of Almaty Baurzhan Baibek, Minister of Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aset Isekeshev and other officials.
In addition, the head of FIDE held talks with President of JSC NC "Astana EXPO-2017" Akhmetzhan Yesimov, they discussed issues of potential cooperation – in order to conduct the International specialized exhibition "Energy of the Future" in the capital of Kazakhstan.
