25 years to come to the Syakyusn-Syume khurul complex in 2021

October 5, 2021 marks the 25th anniversary of the Syakyusn-Syume khurul complex. It was erected in 4 years on the donations of the people of Kalmykia and the personal funds of the first President of Kalmykia Kirsan Ilyumzhinov. In February 1989, the question of building a Buddhist temple arose for the first time. Several sites were proposed for its construction, including in one micro-district on the southern outskirts of Elista. As a result, a suitable area for all parameters was found near the village of Arshan. Its construction took one year.

The grand opening took place on October 5, 1996. And a few years later, the it was consecrated by the Buddhist leader of the world, the14th Dalai Lama. We will continue to tell our readers about this unique Khural complex.
