Kirsan Ilyumzhinov to represent the Iranian Museum

The first President of Kalmykia and the sixth FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov received a power of attorney to manage the Museum of Arts, Culture and People of Ancient Persia.

As part of his working visit to Tehran, Kirsan Ilyumzhinov received from the hands of Professor Hochimien a power of attorney to manage the Museum of Arts, Culture and People of Ancient Persia. Earlier, the owner of the museum, Mr Hochimien, handed Kirsan Nikolaevich part of the collection to promote the culture of Iran.

It should be noted that Mr Hochimien's collection, which he has been collecting for 37 years, includes about 13,000 exhibits: ancient carpets, precious jewellery, seals of Mughal khans and other artefacts. Some of them are more than 1000 years old. Part of the collection was exhibited in Paris, Geneva, London and Tokyo.

Kirsan Nikolaevich plans to organize an exhibition of Iranian antiquities in Russia, in particular in Kalmykia.
